Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive to Palermo Airport where your chauffeur will welcome you to Sicily. Be transported to your four-star wine resort owned by the esteemed Firriato winemaking dynasty. Settle in with a special tasting of Zibibbo, Grillo and Perricone wines led by an expert sommelier, before indulging in a delectable welcome dinner at the estate’s gourmet restaurant.

Day 2

Travel to the estate of a revered wine making family dedicated to the preservation of the region’s ancient varietals and authentic traditions for producing high quality Marsala Superiore and Grillo wines. Set off on a private tour of the estate to learn about the depth and complexity of fine Marsala, before tasting the producer’s stellar wines. Afterward, depart for a renowned restaurant celebrating the flavors of the Trapani province with a contemporary perspective. After lunch, be transported to the town of Marsala to explore the walled environs of its historic center at your leisure.

Day 3

Today you will delight in the sweet side of Sicily with an in depth study of the island’s iconic pastries and confections. Arrive in the medieval mountaintop village of Erice to visit a storied pasticceria owned by a foremost expert on Sicilian pastry. Enjoy a tasting of the shop’s prized cannoli and pasta di mandorla cookies before rolling up your sleeves to prepare traditional Sicilian desserts under the guidance of a master pastry chef. Your day of baking will culminate with a lunch of farm fresh dishes followed by a sweet parade of the confections you’ve created.

Day 4

From the seaside of Trapani you’ll set off for the countryside villa and wine estate of the esteemed Tasca D’Almerita wine making dynasty. Enjoy a tour of their celebrated vineyards, which produce high quality Nero D’Avola vintages, before partaking in an expert led cooking class to prepare classic Palermitano dishes at the estate’s internationally renowned culinary school. Your class will result in a delectable lunch of your handmade creations. From the wine country of Palermo you’ll travel by chauffeur to your chic countryside retreat located at the foothills of majestic Mt. Etna. For dinner you’ll savor a sophisticated meal of organic, locally sourced ingredients artfully prepared, at the hotel’s renowned restaurant.

Day 5

Set off to explore the ancient viticultural traditions and terraced vineyards of the Etna with visits to two of its most esteemed wine estates. Learn about the region’s intriguing volcanic terroir and local grape varietals, before tasting exquisitely complex Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio based red wines. Along the way enjoy a lunch inspired by the rustic flavors of wine country at a charming eatery.

Day 6

Today you will delve into the culinary landscape of the Catania province, influenced by the sea and infused with the produce of the Etna. Accompanied by a revered local chef you will depart for Catania’s bustling fish market to shop for the local catch of the day and other savory provisions. Travel to the chef’s charming home kitchen, nestled at the foothills of Mt. Etna, and roll-up your sleeves for an immersive cooking experience. During your private cooking lesson with the chef, learn the secrets to preparing signature Sicilian dishes like caponata and pasta alla norma, before sitting down for a bountiful lunch of your creations paired with local wine.

Day 7

Depart the majestic slopes of Mt. Etna and travel to the heart of Ragusa for check-in to your opulent five-star hotel located within an 18th century palace. Embark on a private walking tour of Ragusa Ibla to admire its splendid series of Baroque palaces and squares. Next, visit a unique organic farm known for its cultivation of herbs, where you’ll enjoy a countryside lunch inspired by the landscape. After a free afternoon to relax and explore Ragusa independently, dine at one of Sicily’s most acclaimed gourmet restaurants, which has been honored with two Michelin stars.

Day 8

Experience the grandeur of Sicilian Baroque and authentic chocolate making traditions with a day in Modica. Be invited into the home of a local food expert to discover Modica’s singular chocolate making techniques during a hands-on cooking class. Prepare a menu of both savory and sweet dishes celebrating traditional Modica chocolate, which will be crowned with a lunch of your own creations. After lunch, privately tour Modica’s historic center before ending your day at an artisan brewery for a taste of the exciting microbrews being crafted in this corner of Sicily.

Day 9

Discover Noto, the capital city of Sicilian Baroque, with the help of your local guide. Explore the town’s magnificent 18th century architecture and meander along its main street of Corso Vittorio Emanuele for an authentic glimpse into the history of the town. Afterward, travel to a storied wine estate for a special tasting of Noto DOC wines, followed by a lunch showcasing the flavors of the province. In the afternoon, visit a quaint fishing village to learn about the Sicilian tonnara (tuna catching) tradition, and end the day with a tasting of delicacies like bottarga and red tuna.

Day 10

Following breakfast depart by chauffeur for Catania Airport, in preparation for your return flight or the next leg of your adventure.
