This gourmet expedition is tailor made for lover’s of hearty farm to table cuisine, fine wine, rich produce and distinct, regional Italian flavors.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Begin your trip by arriving at Florence Peretola Airport where you will be greeted by your private chauffeur. Be transported to your luxury four-star Relais & Chateaux hotel nestled among the verdant olive groves and vineyards that surround Cortona. After check-in, take advantage of free time to relax after your journey or begin exploring your hotel’s peaceful grounds. In the evening, delight in an elegant dinner of contemporary Tuscan cuisine at your hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant.

Day 2

Spend the late morning touring the vineyards, winery estate and champagnerie of the Barrachi family, before tasting estate produced Sangiovese and Trebbiano wines. In the afternoon, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn how to prepare traditional Tuscan dishes from Arezzo under the guidance of a master chef. After your class, savor a feast of your hand-made creations and some of the chef’s own specialties, paired with estate wines.

Day 3

Depart Cortona via private chauffeur for Montepulciano where you will enjoy a late morning wine tasting at one of Southern Tuscany’s most influential producers of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. During your visit, enjoy an inside look at the producer’s ancient stone cellars before savoring a special lunch paired with their noted vintages. Following lunch, depart via private chauffeur for check-in to your 17th century palazzo turned five-star boutique hotel in the historic heart of Rome. After check-in, spend free time admiring your hotel’s chic interiors and contemporary art pieces on display, before getting acquainted with the city at your own pace.

Day 4

Delve into a full day of gastronomy as you experience Rome’s distinct regional flavors with the guidance of a professional chef. Begin the day with a visit to the city’s ancient Jewish quarter where your chef will explain the gastronomic roots of the area while sampling local artisanal products. Next, set off for the city’s famed Campo de’ Fiori market to learn about local Roman produce while shopping for ingredients for your afternoon cooking class. After your culinary walking tour, your chef will escort you to his private kitchen for an exclusive cooking lesson where you’ll learn how to prepare classic Southern Italian fare before indulging on your delicious creations.

Day 5

Enjoy a free day to explore Rome at your leisure, with time to visit its incredible ancient sites or magnificent fine art and history museums. In the evening be greeted at your hotel by your private chauffeur and depart for a special dinner within the cantina of a noted gourmet salumeria where you will savor a private dinner including a flight of 8 wines paired with your host’s handcrafted cured meats and cheeses. After dinner, return to your hotel by private chauffeur.

Day 6

In the morning, be greeted by a native culinary expert for an in-depth exploration of the area’s rustic food traditions. Enjoy a gastronomical walk of an outdoor farmer’s market complete with a sampling of local produce and artisanal food specialties, such as the famous roasted porchetta. In the afternoon, delight in the region’s unique food traditions as you are invited into the home of your native culinary expert to partake in a private cooking lesson and wine pairing.

Day 7

Depart Rome for your return flight home or the next leg of your trip.
