A charming colonial-style mansion from the year 1866, Aiguaclara Hotel is a delightfully deluxe boutique hotel magnificently positioned within the medieval town center of Begur, in the heart of Baix Empordà. First visualized in 2000 before being lovingly restored by husband and wife team, Clara and Joan, Aiguaclara Hotel has become one of the most inviting and distinctive stays on the Costa Brava.
Spanning a history of over 140 years and registered as an important historical building in the town, the spirit the mansion’s glorious past has been insightfully preserved through the dedication of its owners. With careful attention to detail during the renovation, the owners were able to conserve the property’s original configuration, while refurbishing key architectural elements such as original flooring and doors, to capture the true essence of the vintage building. The hotel’s interior décor has been personally designed by Clara and Joan and features a whimsical blend of handpicked vintage furniture and antique pieces with character. Aiguaclara’s 10 exclusive guest rooms are each bright and airy, featuring lovely furnishings and modern, well appointed bathrooms. In-room amenities include air conditioning and central heating, free Wi-Fi, and televisions with satellite programming.
The hotel’s warm hospitality does not end with its quaint guest rooms, as Aiguaclara also offers a gourmet restaurant housed beneath a romantic glass pergola within the hotel’s garden. Shades of red illuminated by soft lighting set the atmosphere for diners to savor a fresh, seasonal menu that showcases delicious local produce. The hotel’s other facilities, which are reserved solely for guests, include a “chill-out” terrace, complete with serene outdoor courtyard, and an indoor lounge bar where music and a convivial atmosphere can be enjoyed while relaxing with a cocktail, savoring an assortment of tapas or reclining with a good book.
