Day 1

Your elegant escape to the Loire Valley will begin with arrival to Paris Charles de Gaulle or Orly Airport. Be transported by private chauffeur to your resplendent retreat, a former 19th century family estate turned idyllic four-star luxury stay. Spend time exploring your hotel’s peaceful woodland setting, relaxing poolside or visiting its sumptuous Spa by Clarins. Tonight celebrate the start of your Encounter with a refined chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing at the estate’s acclaimed Two Michelin star restaurant by Chef Rémy Giraud.

Day 2

Fall in love with the majesty of the Loire with an introduction to the region’s regal pedigree. Embark on a private boat ride for unparalleled views of one of the valley’s most illustrious châteaux, before discovering its 16th century heritage with your Regional Ambassador. Experience the storybook village of Amboise and its intriguing Le Château du Clos Luce, final residence of Leonardo da Vinci, housing some of the master’s most fascinating inventions. Lunch will be a gourmet parade of local specialties at a quaint family owned eatery, before a free afternoon to discover the town and its Royal Chateau at your own pace.

Day 3

Today you will delve into the Loire Valley’s fine vinicultural traditions from Vouvray to Chinon. Visit the estate of a storied winemaker celebrated for their exceptional Chenin Blanc vintages to learn about Vouvray’s many styles, from sparkling to still and sweet, before enjoying a private tasting of rare vintages in the heart of an underground cellar. For lunch, you’ll be invited into the kitchen of a private chateau for an exclusive cooking experience under the tutelage of a local food expert. The afternoon will be spent admiring lovely riverfront villages as you voyage along the scenic Vienne River aboard a traditional wooden barge. Crown the day by sipping covetable Cabernet Franc as you experience the acclaimed cellars of the Chinon AOC, before exploring one of the region’s most fascinating troglodyte villages.

Day 4

From the region’s fine wines to its fine food traditions, you will spend today experiencing the gastronomic heritage of the Eastern Loire. Visit a local goat farm renowned for their stellar production of traditional Chavignol cheese before tasting the uniqueness of the terroir in the crisp, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc of a boutique producer. Assisted by the expertise of your Regional Ambassador, spend the afternoon discovering medieval Sancerre, before touring the picture perfect village of Montresor, designated as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (most beautiful villages of France).

This morning set off to experience the splendors of the Loire Valley’s most intriguing chateaux with the help of your Regional Ambassador. Discover the 10th century Château de Langeais, one of the oldest medieval castles still in existence, or instead visit the fairytale world of Charles Perrault with an exploration of the 15th century Château d’Ussé, said to have inspired the author’s beloved story of Sleeping Beauty. Savor a country inspired lunch within a charming 17th century farmhouse, before traveling to the beautiful town of Tours for free time to peruse its many boutique shops or visit such marvels as the medieval Place Plumereau, with its storybook half timbered houses, the unique collection of the Musée du Compagnonnage, or the esteemed artwork of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tours.

Day 6

Spend your final glorious day in the Loire sipping the wines of a distinct appellation and uncovering the region’s intriguing history of mushroom cultivation. Venture by chauffeur to the idyllic château of a boutique winemaker to learn about the varietals that give Saumur-Champigny reds their distinct minerality, before sampling the estate’s elegant wines. Uncover the fascinating secrets of cultivating the local button mushroom in the underground troglodyte caves of a third generation family of farmers. Celebrate the region’s culture of the cave dwelling with a special lunch featuring mushrooms and other typical products within the unique setting of a gourmet troglodyte. End your day in the ancient riverside town of Saumur to explore its center of scenic squares and splendid civic architecture.
