Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Florence where your private chauffeur will transport you to the postcard perfect countryside outside of the city. Check-in to your luxurious five-star villa estate nestled along the banks of the Arno River and be welcomed with an exclusive wine tasting in the estate cellar. In the evening delight in an elegant Tuscan dinner overlooking the Arno at your hotel’s gourmet restaurant.

Day 2

Travel by chauffeur to the very heart of Florence where your local expert will help you uncover the city’s exceptional artisanal heritage. Begin at the famed Mercato Centrale to discover handmade Florentine creations, before visiting a historic apothecary celebrated for their traditional methods of perfumery. Visit an exquisite Renaissance palazzo dedicated to 20th century art before experiencing Florence’s artisan enclave of Oltrarno. Along the way enjoy lunch at an authentic “buca” before admiring the 16th century Boboli Gardens with its splendid Renaissance configuration. End your day at a noted enoteca where an expert sommelier will pair exceptional regional wines with your delectable tasting menu.

Day 3

Today you will let your creativity come to fruition either on the plate or the canvas. Enjoy a private cooking course in the gourmet kitchen of your hotel, learning how to prepare regional Tuscan specialties under the tutelage of the property’s Executive Chef. Or if preferable, you can delight in capturing the Florentine landscape with a private painting course led by a renowned local artist.

Day 4

Travel to Tuscany’s Chianti Classico wine producing zone for a day spent appreciating the region’s iconic wine making heritage. Arrive at the 11th century estate of a famed producer for a privately guided tour of the vineyards and a cellar tasting of their premier vintages, before enjoying an al fresco lunch of Tuscan delicacies. Next, travel to one of Italy’s oldest wineries, considered to be the very birthplace of Chianti Classico. Your private visit of the estate will take you from its 11th century castle to its sprawling gardens, culminating with a special seated tasting of the producer’s esteemed vintages. In the afternoon your chauffeur will transport you to the lovely hilltop town of Fiesole, offering gorgeous views of Florence and its countryside, for free time to explore the town at your leisure.

Day 5

Depart for the very heart of Bologna where you'll check-in to your illustrious five-star hotel housed within one of the city’s most treasured historic palaces. Day 6

Led by the astute insights of your local expert, embark on an in-depth exploration of the capital of Emilia-Romagna, with a particular look at Bologna’s most exquisite historical palaces, such as the Palazzo d’Accursio o Communale and the Palazzo dell’Archiginnasio. During your private tour you'll visit the city’s most important cultural sights, including its famed University, Due Torri, and the Piazza del Nettuno. For lunch, you will turn from the historic to the delicious with a gourmand expedition through Bologna’s most premier purveyors of artisanal food products, from pasta makers offering handmade tortellini to antique cheese shops, and iconic salumerie showcasing the region’s prolific array of signature cured meats.

Day 7

From the heart of Emilia-Romagna’s capital you will travel to the sophisticated city of Ferrara. Your local expert will guide you on a history-focused private tour of the city, beginning with its medieval Castello Estense. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon bike ride through Ferrara’s center before arriving at the Palazzo Diamanti, the Renaissance residence of Ferrara’s former ruling family, the noble Este. Along the way, savor lunch at a charming tavern beloved by the locals. From Ferrara you will depart by chauffeur for the Adriatic splendor of Venice. Check-in to your opulent five-star 15th century palazzo before embarking on a private boat ride through the city’s most scenic canals. Day 8

Delve into a bygone period of Venetian history with a privately guided tour of some of the city’s most glorious palazzi, including a visit to the Palazzo Ducale and Ca’ Rezzonico. Stop for a lunch of typical Venetian cicchetti at an authentic bacaro, before enjoying an afternoon visit to the Peggy Guggenheim collection housed within the 18th century Palazzo Venier dei Leoni.

Day 9

Today you will whisk away by private boat on an exploration of the Venetian lagoon. Start the day with a visit to the island of Burano, a fishing enclave famed for its lace making traditions and brightly colored dwellings. Continue on to the island of Mazzorbo for a special visit to an organic farm, winery and epicurean retreat dedicated to preserving the authentic food traditions of the lagoon and its ancient Dorona grape. Day 10
