Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport and be welcomed by your private chauffeur. Set off for majestic Avignon, a city steeped in history and the medieval home of the Avignon Papacy. Arrive for check-in to your luxurious five-star hotel nestled in the shadow of the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). Celebrate your first evening in the south of France with a sumptuous welcome dinner of signature Provencal flavors at a delightful eatery in the heart of town.

Day 2

Today you will discover one of France’s premier wine capitals: Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Following breakfast be transported to the caves of a master sommelier to enjoy an overview of Southern Rhone wines while tasting a flight of premium vintages. Afterward, delight in a private dining experience where you’ll savor delicious Provencal fare prepared specially for you by a local chef. Next, you’ll depart for a storied winery nestled in the countryside surrounding Châteauneuf-du-Pape to visit its aging cellars, before enjoying an exclusive tasting of their Cotes du Rhone wines.

Day 3

Set off on a privately guided tour of Avignon’s most quintessential treasures, such as the UNESCO designated Palace of the Popes, 12th century Romanesque cathedral, and sophisticated main square, the Place de l'Horloge. Stop along the way at one of the city’s signature bistrots to savor a lunch of contemporary French fare. In the late afternoon whisk away to the Luberon to experience the thrill of an authentic truffle hunt. Led by an expert truffle hunter, you'll search for the region’s prized black truffles amidst forests of oak trees. Your gastronomic adventure will culminate with a sampling of hors d'oeuvres featuring the treasures you’ve uncovered, while sipping local sparkling wine.

Day 4

Check-out and depart for Languedoc-Roussillon’s quaint coastline to enjoy a special visit to a rustic oyster farm. Stewarded by a local fisherman, embark by boat to learn about the region’s traditional oyster cultivation, before savoring a delicious seafood lunch featuring these riches from the sea. After lunch be transported by chauffeur to the countryside of Montpellier for check-in to your 16th century mansion turned plush five-star Relais & Chateaux hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel’s luxurious spa.

Day 5

Embark on a day spent uncovering the the boutique wine appellations of Languedoc-Roussillon. Enjoy a scenic horse-drawn carriage ride through the picturesque estate vineyards of a chateau known for its production of high quality Grenache and Carignan based wines. Your ride will come to a delicious stop with a picnic lunch hosted under ancient olive groves, while sipping estate produced wines. In the afternoon you will be chauffeured to a boutique winery revered for its exquisite production of Minervois based vintages. Enjoy a scenic vineyard hike followed by a tasting of the estate’s premium vintages.

Day 6

Check-out and travel by chauffeur to the picturesque town of Aix-en-Provence, for arrival to your historic 18th century country residence turned luxury, five-star hotel. After settling in, embark on a day of culinary discovery with the help of a local food expert. Visit the romantic heart of Aix’s Old Town, with its marvelous avenues like the grand Cours Mirabeau. Experience the bounty of the city’s lively farmer’s markets bursting with fresh produce and regional delicacies like buttery olives, local honey, and savory cheeses and charcuterie. Day 7

After breakfast journey to the quaint seaside village of Cassis, where you will set-off on a scenic boat ride along the area’s breathtaking Calanques. Along the way you’ll admire splendid bays of turquoise and majestic limestone cliffs. Return to Cassis to savor a lunch of freshly caught fish before enjoying a bit of free time to discover the charm of the village at your leisure. In the afternoon you’ll visit a boutique vineyard and delight in an exclusive tasting of the area’s floral Cassis AOC white wines.

Day 8

Following check-out, bid adieu to Aix-en-Provence and depart by chauffeur for Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, in preparation for your return flight or the next leg of your adventure.
