Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Your culinary adventure in Lazio will begin in the Eternal City, where you will explore its rich gastronomical traditions and savor each delicious moment. Arrive in Rome and be greeted by your private chauffeur. Be transported to the exclusive Via Giulia neighborhood for check-in to your plush five-star design hotel located just minutes from Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori. Settle-in and explore your surroundings at your leisure. For dinner, delight in a truly epicurean dining experience at one of the city’s most revered restaurants, specialized in artisanal charcuterie and Roman classics. Savor an exclusive tasting menu paired with regional wines hand-selected by your sommelier in the setting of a private dining room. After dinner return to your hotel via private chauffeur.

Day 2

The sights, sounds and flavors of Rome will be brought to life as you partake in a culinary walk through the city’s iconic farmer’s markets and specialty gourmet shops with a resident food expert, where you will also sample quintessentially Roman fare from the city’s best street food vendors along the way. Make your way to the city’s culinary haven: Testaccio. Begin your exploration at Testaccio’s market learning about the neighborhood’s fascinating history while sampling local olives and fruits. Next head to Testaccio’s premier salumeria to taste artisanal truffle products, cheeses, charcuterie and their fresh baked pizza al taglio. After your visit stop for a lunch at a historic eatery known for serving on of the city’s best cacio e pepe. In the afternoon discover Rome’s artisanal gelato making tradition as you learn the secrets of this signature treat at a family-owned gelato producer. End your study of true Italian style gelato with an exclusive sampling of their finest creations.

Day 3

Delve into a full day of gastronomy as you experience Rome’s distinct regional flavors with the guidance of a professional chef. Begin the day with a visit to the city’s ancient Jewish quarter where your chef will explain the gastronomic roots of the area while sampling local artisanal products. Next, set off for the city’s famed Campo de’ Fiori market to learn about local Roman produce while shopping for ingredients for your afternoon cooking class. After your culinary walking tour, your chef will escort you to his private kitchen for an exclusive cooking lesson where you’ll learn how to prepare classic Southern Italian fare before indulging on your delicious creations.

Day 4

Take advantage of a free morning to shop and explore the city at your own pace, before being met by your local guide for a visit to Rome’s Monti neighborhood. One of the city’s most historical and seldom visited districts with a unique culture and community of its own, Monti is noted for its series of organic markets, art galleries and trattorie serving delicious Roman fare. After your guided walking tour of the neighborhood stop for dinner and indulge in a savory plate of bucatini all’amatriciana along with other local favorites like saltimbocca alla romana and straccetti alla vaccinara.

Day 5

Depart the bustle of Rome’s exuberant city streets for the tranquility of its wine country nestled in the Alban Hills. Arrive at your exclusive Liberty style, four-star retreat set amongst the ancient hills of the Castelli Romani in the town of Frascati. After check-in embark on a day of wine tasting where you’ll sample the area’s signature vintages including Frascati Bianco and Castelli Romani Rosso in the cantinas of regional vintners. In the evening delight in a dinner of true Roman delicacies at a restaurant that has been serving Cinecitta studio moguls and local gourmands since the 1920’s. Afterward, enjoy Frascati’s quaint sidewalk cafes, hilltop promenade and views of the imposing façade of neighboring Villa Aldobrandini at your own pace.

Day 6

In the morning, be greeted by a native culinary expert for an in-depth exploration of the area’s rustic food traditions. Enjoy a gastronomical walk of an outdoor farmer’s market complete with a sampling of local produce and artisanal food specialties, such as the famous roasted porchetta. In the afternoon, delight in the region’s unique food traditions as you are invited into the home of your native culinary expert to partake in a private cooking lesson and wine pairing.

Day 7

Depart Frascati for your return flight home or the next leg of your trip.
