Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive to Olbia’s Costa Smeralda Airport and be greeted by your private chauffeur, before traveling to your four-star gourmet experience hotel located in the heart of the Barbagia region. Settle in with an introduction to Sardinian wines and olive oils during a special tasting, before savoring a dinner of authentic recipes of the Barbagia, using locally grown ingredients.

Day 2

Today your chauffeur will transport you along the fabled Cannonau wine route where you will enjoy two exclusive winery visits with tastings of the region's premium vintages. Following your tastings, delight in a gourmet lunch in the wine country surrounding Nuoro. In the afternoon spend free time exploring the ancient town of Oliena, known for its handmade artisan wares and boutique wine and olive oil production, before returning to your hotel in the early evening.

Day 3

Venture to the hilltop village of Orgosolo, a town brought to life through vivid murals depicting Sardinia’s intriguing cultural and political heritage. Set off on a private walking tour to learn about the island’s turbulent political history as told through the town’s breathtaking series of murals. Afterward, travel into the surrounding mountains to experience the ancient tradition of a Sardinian shepherd’s lunch. During your special lunch you’ll savor the region’s signature porceddu suckling pig, along with other local specialties.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast before check-out and depart by private chauffeur for the Malvasia di Bosa Wine Road. Arrive at a boutique producer of premium Malvasia di Bosa wine where you will enjoy an owner led winery tour and special tasting of their DOC vintages. Next, travel to the quaint village of Bosa, an ancient Phoenician settlement and former Roman colony, known for its colorful buildings and signature handicrafts. Embark on a privately guided walking tour of Bosa’s historic old town, characterized by charming medieval streets and colorful houses. Along the way, enjoy lunch at a quaint eatery in the heart of the old town. In the afternoon depart for the coastal city of Alghero, located on the shores of Western Sardinia, for check-in to your five-star luxury hotel stunningly situated on its own promontory.

Day 5

Spend the day with a local culinary expert to discover Alghero's ancient farmer’s markets. Visit the stalls of local fish mongers to learn about the region’s fishing traditions and typical rock lobster and sea urchin, before perusing the artisan wares of local producers of cheese, charcuterie, and preserves. Continue with a private historical walking tour of Alghero’s old city, the Alguervella, to learn about its unique heritage as a former Genovese settlement turned Spanish Aragonese and Catalonian colony. Your day will culminate with lunch at a restaurant specializing in the city’s Catalan-influenced cuisine and local seafood, including dishes featuring Sardinian bottarga (cured fish row). The afternoon is yours to continue exploring the city independently. In the evening dine at an elegant waterfront eatery renowned for their exquisite preparation of lobster and seasonal fish dishes.

Day 6

Set off by chauffeur for the countryside just outside of Alghero, where you’ll arrive at a historic organic farm. Embark on a guided visit of the estate to learn about the farm’s organic produce and traditional farming practices, before partaking in a hands-on cooking lesson led by a professional chef. Learn how to prepare dishes from the Sassari province then dine on your delicious creations paired with local wines and digestives, such as Sardinian Mirto. Return to your hotel for a free evening to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s departure.

Day 7

After breakfast, your chauffeur will transport you to Alghero-Fertilia Airport in preparation for your return flight or the next leg of your adventure.
