Lunch will be a feast of fresh fish accented by waterfront views at a typical tavern nestled in a picture-perfect fishing village. In the afternoon, you will set off for a guided hike to the rugged ruins of an ancient Laconian acropolis to learn more about the region’s fabled history.

Day 3

Today you will be transported to the heart of Laconian olive country to appreciate the bounty of the land. Be welcomed by the owners of an organic farm renowned for their biodynamic practices, exceptional olive cultivation and ancient groves. Led by an olive oil sommelier, delight in a private tasting experience to savor the unique characteristics of the region’s native varietals and the farm’s acclaimed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Your farm visit will continue with a hands-on, garden to table cooking class featuring the estate’s seasonal vegetables and local recipes. Your lunch of zero km cuisine will be beautifully presented alongside a flight of natural Greek wines highlighting Peloponnesian and Laconian grape varieties, by the farm’s expert sommelier. Upon returning to your sumptuous stay, you’ll be pampered with an evening wellness experience at your hotel’s Mediterranean inspired spa.

Day 4

Embark from a nearby port for an exclusive, private boat voyage to stunning Elafonisos, one of Greece’s most beautiful and lesser known islands. During your private boating experience, enjoy free time to swim in pristine turquoise waters before luxuriating along the serene, white sand beaches of the island. Lunch will be prepared for you on board, followed by more time for blissful relaxation. In the evening, savor a dinner of rustic, roasted specialties showcasing estate grown produce at your hotel’s romantic, open air taverna.

Day 5

From the coastal splendors of Monemvasia you will be transported to the lush heart of the Peloponnese wine route. The first stop on your viticultural journey will be a private cellar visit with a tasting of native Moschofilero based vintages at an acclaimed producer situated along the Mantinia Wine Route. Next, will be an exclusive winery experience in Nemea Wine Country where you will visit the cellars of one of the region’s most preeminent winemakers, followed by a gourmet lunch of regional Peloponnese dishes paired alongside the producer’s bold Agiorgitiko single varietal and blended wines. From the ancient vines of Nemea you will travel by chauffeur to the exuberant capital of Greece, Athens, for check-in to your chic, five-star city stay. Day 6

Today will be an immersion into the vibrant culture of Athens with the help of your Regional Ambassador, an expert archaeologist. Begin the day with an exploration of bustling Monastiraki Square, a timeline of Greek culture from Ottoman and Orthodox to ancient Roman and Neoclassical. A stroll through the neighborhood’s legendary flea market will offer a menagerie of intriguing antiques, jewelry, and handmade wares to peruse. Next, you will visit the city’s Dimotiki Agora (Central Market), a colorful window into the everyday life of Athens. Discover the market’s robust series of stalls with butchers and fishmongers enthusiastically showcasing their freshest cuts, a kaleidoscope of produce vendors, and merchants selling an intoxicating array of herbs, spices, olives and oils. Lunch will be an intriguing taste of tradition from specialty cured meats to meze dishes, honoring the rich culinary past of Cappadocian Greeks who brought their unique charcuterie making customs, dating back to the Byzantine era, to Athens. In the afternoon you will explore the oldest district of Athens, the atmospheric Plaka, with its antique cobblestone streets, sidewalk cafes, and leafy pedestrian lanes, beneath the shadow of the majestic Acropolis. Stop to enjoy a traditional Greek coffee and sweet treat at a historic coffee house before arriving to the iconic Syntagma Square, a centerpiece of modern Athenian history, topped by the 19th century Neoclassical Parliament Building, the former Old Royal Palace. Dinner will be an ode to updated classic Greek cuisine at one of the city’s most revered eateries.

Day 7

Uncover the archaeological treasures of Athens with the help of your Regional Ambassador, an expert Archaeologist, beginning at Panathenaic Stadium, home to the first modern Olympic games. Built onto a former ancient site where Olympic games were celebrated for centuries, today the stadium stands as an architectural marvel constructed completely of mable, which honors the ancient Olympic heritage of Athens and Greece while ushering the tradition into the modern era. Next, you will visit the city’s illustrious Acropolis Museum to appreciate its astounding collection of priceless artifacts from the Parthenon and sanctuaries along the slopes of the Acropolis, along with precious antiquities and works of art retelling the story of ancient life in Athens through the centuries. An exploration of the Ancient Agora of Athens will give you a remarkable glimpse into the city’s classical period, before experiencing the city’s crowning glory, the inspiring 5th century BC Acropolis with such stunning riches as the majestic gateway to the Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, and the Erechtheion with its spectacular Porch of the Caryatids. Your day will conclude with a special dinner hosted in the home of an Athenian family who will welcome you with a feast of local recipes offered with warm hospitality.

Day 8

Embark for an archaeologist-led exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mycenae, with its intriguing archaeological ruins recalling the history of one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean civilization, dating back to the Bronze Age. You will continue on to the romantic seaside town of Nafplio for a guided visit of its medieval Old Town, an intoxicating blend of cobblestone lanes and period architecture reflecting its rich Venetian and Ottoman past, and significance as the first capital of modern Greece. Savor lunch along one of the town’s lovely bougainvillea lined streets before delighting in free time to shop and explore independently, followed by return to Athens.

Day 9

This morning you will set off for one of Greece’s most inspiring ancient achievements, the architectural marvel that is the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus. Begin with an archaeologist-led visit of the theater, dating back to the 4th century BC and revered for its impeccable acoustics and magnificent preservation, before exploring the fascinating archaeological ruins of the Sanctuary of Asclepius, a sacred center for healing and medicinal treatment in the ancient Greek world. Lunch will be an ode to fresh fish at a typical waterfront taverna along a cerulean gulf, before embarking on a guided exploration of the archaeological site of ancient Corinth. One of the most important city states of ancient Greece, you will take a walk back in time as you appreciate its 6th century BC Temple of Apollo and vestiges of its Agora before learning about the city’s Roman reconstruction in the 1st century BC.
