Day One

Begin your adventure through Andalucia with arrival to Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport or Málaga María Zambrano Train Station. Be welcomed by private chauffeur and set off for the ancient city of Granada for arrival to your exclusive four-star stay, the Parador de Granada, situated within the UNESCO designated Alhambra complex. Celebrate the start of your Encounter with a dinner of contemporary Andalusian cuisine highlighted by stunning views of the glowing Alhambra.

Day Two

This morning enjoy reserved entrance to the spectacular 9th century palace of the Alhambra, led by the expert insights of your CB Regional Ambassador. Discover the oldest section of the complex, the Alcazaba fortress, before exploring the wondrous Nasrid palaces with their elaborate coffered ceilings, brilliant mosaics, and intricate geometric patterns, before appreciating the serene courtyards of the Generalife. Savor a typical taste of Andalucia with a lunch of tapas in the medieval Moorish neighborhood of the Albacin, before visiting the Gothic, 16th century Capilla Real de Granada (Royal Chapel of Granada), final burial place of the Catholic Monarchs Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain.

Day Three

From the captivating hills of Granada set off for the expansive plains of the Jaén Province punctuated by golden groves of olive. Arrive to the estate of an acclaimed olive oil producer for a private visit of the farm and tasting flight of their artisan Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Travel to the Renaissance center of Úbeda for a lunch of rustic dishes influenced by the Jaén terroir before traveling onward to the historic town of Baeza where your CB Regional Ambassador will introduce you to the city’s magnificent UNESCO World Heritage center, dating back to Moorish rule during the 9th century. The afternoon will have you arriving to the UNESCO designated heart of Córdoba, the second largest old town in all of Europe, for check-in to your sophisticated four-star stay, Balcon de Cordoba, located in Córdoba’s historic center.

Day Four

Today you will experience Córdoba’s wealth of riches led by the insights of your CB Regional Ambassador. Spend time appreciating the 8th century Mezquita de Córdoba (Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba) before exploring the UNESCO designated Old Town, including its historic Jewish neighborhood of medieval streets accented by Moorish architecture and flower-lined balconies. Stop for a lunch of authentic Cordobés dishes at a gourmet restaurant near the city’s stunning Puerta de Almodóvar, then spend the afternoon visiting the splendid Moorish gardens of Córdoba’s 13th century Alcazar, featuring stunning Mudejar architecture, and the city’s ancient Roman Bridge crossing the Guadalquivir river.

Day Five

From Córdoba’s romantic center, continue your Andalucian adventure with a day dedicated to the region’s fascinating archaeological marvels. Explore UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Medina Azahara, a Moorish fortified city built at the height of the Al-Andalus civilization in the 10th century, before traveling to the glorious hilltop town of Carmona, steeped in ancient Roman and Moorish history. An open air museum of Moorish forts, Mudéjar architecture and regal 16th century palaces, savor a lunch showcasing classic Andalucian flavors within a uniquely historic setting of Carmona’s old center. Spend the afternoon traversing the ancient ruins of the Italica Archaeological Site, as your CB Regional Ambassador guides you on an intriguing examination of this important Roman city dating back to 206 BC. Be chauffeured to the spirited heart of Sevilla
for arrival to your historic 18th century palace turned five-star hotel, Palacio de Villapanes, and a free evening to relax after today’s activity.

Day Six

Set off to explore Sevilla’s picturesque Casco Antiguo (Old Town) led by the local insights of your CB Regional Ambassador. Experience the medieval Barrio de Santa Cruz and UNESCO designated Cathedral, the world’s largest Gothic church and burial place of explorer Christopher Columbus, before admiring the 12th century La Giralda tower and intriguing wooden structure, the Metropol Parasol, known as “Las Setas.” Take an epicurean break for tapas and other local specialties at the Mercado Lonja del Barranco, a gourmet marketplace overlooking the Guadalquivir River, before visiting Sevilla’s famed royal palace, the 10th century Alcázar, featuring exquisite Mudéjar architecture and sprawling gardens. Day Seven

This morning depart for the ancient city by the sea, Cádiz, originally founded by the Phoenicians, where your CB Regional Ambassador, a local food expert, will help you uncover the city’s vibrant taste traditions. Embark on a guided visit of the 19th century Mercado Central, the city’s gastronomic heart, to experience its kaleidoscope of stalls selling freshly caught seafood, a rainbow of produce, local cheeses, briny olives, crusty loaves of bread, and more. Next, savor a lively tapeo (tapas tasting walk) through some of the city’s most legendary taverns in the historic center. From Cádiz travel to the illustrious Sherry Triangle to learn about the region’s iconic sherry tradition with a private cellar visit and tasting flight of acclaimed Jerez vintages at the bodega of a storied sherry producer. Return to Sevilla in the afternoon for free time to spend at your leisure before enjoying a contemporary voyage through the Mediterranean market flavors of Andalucia, elegantly presented at your hotel’s gastronomic restaurant, Los Rincones del Marques

Day Eight

From the rhythmic soul of Sevilla set off for the stunning Pueblos Blancos, known as the “White Villages of Andalucia”, where your CB Regional Ambassador will help you discover one of region’s most stunning towns characterized by striking whitewashed architecture, a 13th century Nasrid castle, and picturesque location. Travel next to the romantic city of Ronda, one of Andalucia’s most spectacular Pueblos Blacos, suspended above the dramatic El Tajo gorge. Dine on traditional Andalusian fare at a fabled eatery known for hosting Spain’s most notable bullfighters through the decades, before experiencing the famed 18th century Plaza de Toros bullring, one of the oldest in Spain, and the historic Moorish quarter of Ronda. In the afternoon be welcomed for an exclusive visit to the family-owned finca (estate) of a renowned Toros Bravos breeder for rare glimpse of their working bull farm and the animals within the majestic natural setting of the estate. From the dramatic terrain of the Pueblos Blancos to the bold coastal city of Málaga, arrive to your former 18th century palace turned sophisticated, four-star stay, Palacio Solecio, in the historic heart of the city.

Day Nine

Start the day with a warm welcome from your local culinary expert and a guided visit of Málaga’s Mercado Central de Atarazanas, one of Southern Spain’s most colorful marketplaces, to peruse its seasonal gourmet offerings and vibrant produce stalls. Next be welcomed into your food expert’s charming home kitchen, located on their lovely countryside finca, for a private, hands-on cooking lesson of regional Andalusian cuisine that will be crowned with a delectable lunch of your creations paired with local wine. Following return to the city, enjoy reserved entrance to the Museo Picasso Málaga to independently discover its illustrious permanent collection of works, spanning the prolific career of Málaga-born art icon, Picasso, at your own pace.

Why is my quoted trip price different than the published starting price per person?

While our Crafted Encounters are pre-designed and ready to book travel experiences, there are important factors that may impact the quoted trip price, namely hotel availability, number of travelers in your party, and whether you are requesting to travel during high or low season in a specific region or during a national holiday/special event.

What happens if my requested travel dates are not available?

Should your requested travel dates not be available, or if they happen to encompass a national holiday or special event that will significantly impact your quoted trip price, we will certainly let you know and work with you to identify alternate travel dates.
