Widder Hotel

Located within the heart of Zurich’s medieval Augustiner quarter, the Widder Hotel is a five-star Leading Hotel of the World that elegantly melds the historic with the contemporary to create a captivating paradise in the center of the city.

Comprised of a series of nine medieval townhouses originally owned by Switzerland's Guild of the Butchers and meticulously refurbished by Swiss architect Tilla Theus, today the Widder Hotel is a fully modern accommodation that brings together historic architectural details, such as original 15th century frescoes, with contemporary furnishings by some of the world’s greatest designers and architects. Each of the hotel’s 42 guest rooms is uniquely styled to blend the past with the present, showcasing intriguing antiques and pieces by renowned artists, and accentuated by a decidedly circular structure that pays homage to an ancient Roman well discovered during renovation.

A renowned center for live jazz, the Widder Bar plays host to a series of performances by jazz greats throughout the year, while featuring an impressive Spirits Library that includes over 1,000 bottles. The Widder Restaurant, overseen by Chef Tino Staub, is the hotel’s fine dining option, serving a creative menu of globally inspired dishes prepared with the highest quality local ingredients. The hotel’s other restaurants include the unique Turmstuebli, offering fine tobaccos and a chef-curated wine list to compliment its gastronomic offerings, the casual Wirtschaft Zur Schtund tavern featuring classical Swiss fare, Boucherie AuGust serving a menu focused on rustic meat specialties, and the Al Fresco lounge, where diners can enjoy light, summer inspired cuisine within the lovely setting of the hotel’s courtyard garden.
