Do As The Locals Do: Madrid’s Mercado de San Miguel
Age is somethinng that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese.
Luis Bunuel
A real madrileño knows that the best local flavors can only be found down at the mercado, and without a doubt, the Mercado de San Miguel is one of Madrid’s finest. Located just off of the Plaza Mayor, the mercado rises like an iron cornucopia, its Beaux-Arts construction overflowing with the very best of Spanish produce. It is a place for the people and by the people – a lively mix of characters both young and old, joined happily together to pay homage to some of life’s little pleasures. Bocadillos? They’ve got plenty. Writhing for the richly aromatic, melt-in-your-mouth goodness of Pata Negra? Look no further. Wash it all down with a rosy Garnacha and you’ve just guaranteed a good day, a very good day indeed.

I love the info on Madrid. The city looks very inviting. I can hardly wait to board a plane to Spain!
